Malaysian pianist Su-yen Chee has established herself both as a soloist and chamber musician. She has given solo and collaborative recitals in the United States, HongKong, Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
She has given many solo performances both locally and abroad, and is also in demand as a collaborator, working extensively with both instrumentalists and vocalists. Besides performing, she dedicates her time to teaching. Her students have won prizes in local and regional competitions and she is also sought after as an adjudicator, most recently for the Virtual International Music Competition 2020, E-Artium Piano Competition 2022 and UCSI University International Piano Festival and Competition (2014, 2016, 2018, 2022)
Su-yen is a graduate of Indiana University (Bloomington) and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she completed her MMus and BMus (1st class honours) degrees respectively. Her major teachers include Karen Shaw, Michel Block and Gabriel Kwok. Currently, she is an adjunct lecturer at UCSI University, ASWARA and maintains a private studio.
