Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Assistant Professor Ysan Suit Yin is the Head of the Classical Music Degree of the Institute of Music at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur, a very dedicated teacher and has been actively teaching since 1986. She was one of the first in the South-East Asia to be awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music (Music in Education) by the Royal School of Music. Suit Yin received an exemption from the Bachelor’s Degree in Music, and a place was offered in London College of Music with partial bursary for the Master Degree in Performance.
Suit Yin has been invited to judge many piano competitions such as International Music Society Piano Competition, Asia International Piano Competition, UCSI Online Piano Competition, UCSI National Music Competition and one of the regular judges for UCSI International Piano Festival and Competition. She also has given piano masterclasses in International Music Society Music School and SMK Musik Methodist Charles Wesley in Indonesia. Suit Yin was the chairperson for UCSI University Piano Pedagogy Conference in 2019.
