Hee Jung Choi, a Korean pianist residing in Malaysia, obtained her Master Degree from Western Illinois University where she was the Graduate Assistant Award recipient. She was admitted into the University of Iowa post-graduate program under the prestigious John Simms Piano Award. While at WIU, Hee Jung has won the concerto competition as a soloist one year and as a trio ensemble in the year after. She was then chosen to go on tour with the University Wind Ensemble performances and was selected the official Suzuki collaborative pianist for the Western Illinois area in its Centennial Celebration Concert.
Cadis studied Master of Music (Piano Accompaniment) under the tutelage of Scott Mitchell in Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. In April 2017, she participated in the Georg Solti Accademia Repetiteur’s Course and had masterclasses with the late Jeffrey Tate, Richard Bonynge, Jonathan Papp, James Vaughan and Mark Markham. She was invited to play in Georg Solti Accademia Singers’ Course in July 2017.
In Malaysia, she has participated in the 1st Asia Grand Piano Concert. Hee Jung has been invited to adjudicate in competitions and give masterclasses in Malaysia and Indonesia. Ms Choi has taught in UM and UPSI. Currently she is on the piano faculty of UCSI. Many of her students have been award winners in local as well as international competitions. Among Hee Jung’s principal teachers include Dr Michael Campbell, Dr Uriel Tsachor, Hyung Ja Kim, Joong Won Koh and Hyo Sil Kang.
