Jaz Tan ggraduated from University of Western Ontario, Canada with a Master of Music degree specializing in piano performance. Her piano teachers include Professor Maureen Volk, Professor Kristina Szutor, Ms. Tina Yanchus and Ms. Carla Furlong (harp).


Jaz is currently the Director of Elysee Music School at Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, specializing in piano, harp, aural skills, keyboard and Kindermusik education. She was formerly Assistant Professor, working as the Head of Classical Music Degree Program in UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur. She now works as part time lecturer coaching piano lessons at the university.


Apart from being a solo pianist, she also works as a collaborative pianist and performed in many choral, opera and musical events/productions. She performed in the Piano Duet Recital with Dr. Lim Pei Sien (2012), Piano Duet Recital with Ms Ysan Suit Yin at UCSI University (2015), as well as guest performer playing with the Malaysian Piano Quartet (2017). She also regularly performs as guest pianist/harpist in Elysee Music School Concerts. Apart from performing, she was invited to be the adjudicator for an international music festival in Indonesia (2015) as well as adjudicator for the Muar Youth Piano Competition (2018).


With proven teaching guidance and counselling skills, Jaz has guided many young musicians improving their instrumental/musical skills. In recent years, she has reached out to many families providing the best early childhood music education, strengthening the community as a whole to nurture the next generation of potential musicians.
