Since accepting a faculty position at Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan, Thomas Linde has been active as a pianist, having performed throughout Taiwan, Canada, China, the United States, Japan and Malaysia. As a teacher, he has served as a visiting professor at Eastern Michigan University, has conducted masterclasses in Asia, the United States and Europe and has taught at summer music festivals in Prague and Amalfi.

Professor Linde has taught students who have won first prize in international and all-Taiwan competitions and has former students who now hold faculty positions at established universities both in Taiwan and the United States. He has lectured extensively on topics related to keyboard literature and piano pedagogy and has written numerous articles that have published for international conferences and periodicals. He is also author of the book, The Stylus Phantasticus in the Keyboard Works of J. S. Bach.

Professor Linde holds a doctorate in piano performance from Indiana University at Bloomington where he graduated with distinction. He earned his undergraduate degree at Baldwin-Wallace College and later became a recipient of the Conservatory Alumni Achievement Award. He studied piano with Stephen Kovacevich, Robert Mayerovitch, Alain Planes, Karen Shaw and Zadel Skolovsky and chamber music with Josef Gingold.

From 1994 to 2011, Professor Linde was director of the Tunghai International Music Festival and has since coordinated several international music conferences. At Tunghai, he teaches applied piano, chamber music and piano literature and is presently chairman of the music department.
