Malaysian pianist Chee Su-yen has established herself both as a soloist and chamber musician. She has given solo and collaborative recitals in the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.


Recent solo performances include a recital at the KL Piano Festival 2012 and participation at the KL Piano Galas in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. She is also a keen supporter of contemporary music, having performed and premiered compositions by well known local and foreign composers. She is in demand as an accompanist and has worked extensively with both instrumentalists and vocalists. Besides performing , she dedicates her time to teaching. Her students have won prizes in local competitions and she is also sought after as an adjudicator, most recently for the 14th Hong Kong (Asia Pacific) Malaysia Preliminary Piano Competition, UCSI International Piano Competition and the 6th Asian Youth Music Competition(Malaysia Selection).


Su-yen studied at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as a full scholarship student under Gabriel Kwok. She was the recipient of a number of prizes from the Academy, and graduated from the Bachelors degree with First Class Honours . Subsequently, she pursued her Masters degree at Indiana University (Bloomington) USA , studying with Michel Block and Karen Shaw.
Currently, Su-yen is an adjunct lecturer at UCSI University.
