Lucas Wong, Assistant Professor of Piano at Soochow University School of Music in China, is equally at home as a soloist, chamber musician, pedagogue, and repetiteur. His keyboard repertoire stretches over six centuries, including works for harpsichord, piano, and extended keyboard techniques. As a dedicated teacher, he also contributes regularly in editing for university publishing press, scholarly writing, adjudication, and leading research in computer algorithm for piano reduction technique. He has performed at Seoul Sejong Center, the University of Hong Kong Grand Hall, Shanghai Conservatory He Luting Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York Steinway Hall, the Canadian Broadcasting Company, and the Banff Centre, to name a few. In 2015, he travels to various venues in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Canada, and the United States, to guest perform and teach.

As a soloist, he has appeared with orchestras playing piano concertos, while also touring with innovative programs that include rarely performed works such as Liszt-Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique and George Crumb's Makrokosmos. Wong has been a guest lecturer on Debussy at the Juilliard School, and a juror for regional and international competitions, such as Young Musicians Festival at Fairfield University, the World Weibo Piano Competition, and Stony Brook International Piano Competition. He has given masterclasses and performances at the 2009 Shanghai International Piano Festival, and as well as other institutions, such as Peking University, Seoul National University, and Xinghai Conservatory and Pre-College Division.

As a vocal pianist and assistant conductor, he has been on the roster of the New York City Opera, Opera America, the Opera Theater of Connecticut, and the Hugo Kauder Society. Wong is on faculty of SongFest at Colburn, and list of official accompanists at major festivals and competitions, such as the Metropolitan Opera Council District Auditions, Music Academy of the West, and Eckhardt-Gramatté new music competition. Wong has worked closely with award winning composers, such as William Bolcom, David Bruce, John Musto, Jake Heggie, and Rufus Wainwright. Wong is the Artistic Director of Liederfest in Suzhou, an unprecedented intensive art song festival in China.

Wong began his early training at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. He is a graduate of University of British Columbia (B. Mus) and Yale School of Music (M.M., M.M.A, D.M.A). Mentors include Boris Berman, Frank Corliss, Claude Frank, Peter Frankl, Michael Friedmann, Margo Garrett, Martin Katz, Warren Jones, Julian Martin, Edward Parker, Poon Tak, Rena Sharon, and Robert Silverman. Wong also holds a Post-Graduate Fellowship from Bard Conservatory. He has been generously supported by the Début Competition (Canada), Marilyn Horne Foundation, the Yale School of Music Alumni Association, and the Vancouver Foundation. He received a Gold Medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, the conservatory's highest honor for his ARCT Teachers' Diploma.
